Resolve Conflict Through a Christian Process

The Christian Judicial System (CJS) provides voluntary, faith-based dispute resolution for individuals, families, churches, ministries, and organizations seeking to address conflict according to biblical principles of justice, accountability, reconciliation, and restoration.

Whether you are dealing with an interpersonal disagreement, church or ministry conflict, organizational dispute, or another civil matter, CJS may be able to help you pursue a constructive resolution outside the traditional court process.

Start With a Confidential Review

Submitting a request does not mean that CJS has accepted your case. We first review the information you provide to determine whether the matter appears appropriate for the CJS process. If it is, you may be invited to schedule an Initial Interview with a Case Coordinator.

There is no obligation to proceed simply because you submit a request.

Who CJS Helps

Christian Judicial System is designed to help Christians, churches, ministries, nonprofit organizations, and faith-based leaders seek a biblical path toward conflict resolution, accountability, reconciliation, and restoration.

CJS may be appropriate for matters involving:

• personal or relational conflict between Christians;
• church or ministry disputes;
• nonprofit board or leadership conflict;
• faith-based organizational disagreements;
• Christian business or contract-related concerns;
• situations where guided Christian mediation may help;
• matters where both parties are willing to participate voluntarily;
• referrals from pastors, ministry leaders, or Christian organizations.

CJS begins with review and discernment. Not every matter will be accepted, and some situations may need to be referred to a pastor, counselor, attorney, emergency service, or another qualified resource.

Mediation First When Appropriate

CJS generally uses a mediation-first approach when the matter is appropriate and the participants are willing to proceed voluntarily. Guided Christian Mediation gives the parties an opportunity to communicate, clarify concerns, seek accountability, pursue repentance and forgiveness where appropriate, and work toward a voluntary written agreement.

If mediation is not appropriate or does not resolve the matter, CJS may consider a Formal Hearing, but only when the matter is suitable for that process and the participants have provided the required consent.

If someone has invited you to participate in the CJS process, use the response form to let CJS know whether you are willing to participate and to provide any requested information.

I Am a Pastor or Ministry Leader

Pastors and ministry leaders may refer an individual, family, church, ministry, or organization to CJS for consideration.
