Not every dispute begins in the same place. This page will help you choose the right next step, whether you are seeking Christian mediation, responding to a dispute, making a pastoral referral, volunteering, donating, or asking a general question.

Who CJS Helps

Christian Judicial System is designed to help Christians, churches, ministries, nonprofit organizations, and faith-based leaders seek a biblical path toward conflict resolution, accountability, reconciliation, and restoration.

CJS may be appropriate for matters involving:

  • personal or relational conflict between Christians;
  • church or ministry disputes;
  • nonprofit board or leadership conflict;
  • faith-based organizational disagreements;
  • Christian business or contract-related concerns;
  • situations where guided Christian mediation may help;
  • matters where both parties are willing to participate voluntarily;
  • referrals from pastors, ministry leaders, or Christian organizations.

CJS begins with review and discernment. Not every matter will be accepted, and some situations may need to be referred to a pastor, counselor, attorney, emergency service, or another qualified resource.

Common Dispute Categories

CJS may review inquiries involving several types of faith-based conflict, including:

  • Personal or relational disputes between Christians
  • Church member or ministry conflict
  • Pastor, elder, board, or leadership disagreements
  • Nonprofit board or governance disputes
  • Christian business or contract-related concerns
  • Partnership, service, or agreement disputes
  • Reconciliation after offense, broken trust, or failed communication
  • Disputes where both parties want a Christian alternative to public conflict
  • Matters referred by pastors, churches, ministries, or Christian organizations

CJS reviews each inquiry individually. The category of a dispute does not guarantee acceptance, and some matters may be better handled by a pastor, counselor, attorney, civil court, emergency service, or another qualified resource.

Mediation First When Appropriate

CJS generally encourages a mediation-first approach when the matter is appropriate and both parties are willing to participate. Guided Christian mediation gives the parties an opportunity to communicate, clarify issues, seek accountability, pursue repentance and forgiveness where appropriate, and work toward a voluntary written agreement.

A formal Christian resolution hearing may be considered only when mediation is not appropriate, does not resolve the dispute, or when the matter requires a more structured process.

Before You Continue

Christian Judicial System is not an emergency service, law firm, civil court, or crisis-response agency. If anyone is in immediate danger, if abuse or criminal conduct is involved, or if you are facing urgent legal deadlines, please contact appropriate authorities or qualified legal counsel before submitting a website inquiry.
